Avon NY Walk Raises $8.3 Million

The event last weekend attracted 3,400 participants.

The 10th annual New York Avon Walk for Breast Cancer took place last weekend, and raised more than $8.3 million dollars as participants walked 39.3 miles. More than 3,400 women and men participated, and were from 46 states, including eight different countries.

The money raised will be donated to nine breast cancer organizations in New York, as well as other organizations throughoout the year. The funds will be used to help advance access to care and research, and find a cure.

Sheri McCoy, CEO, Avon Products, served as the honorary captain of Team Avon Sales Representatives and employees, and walked in the event in honor of her mother, a breast cancer survivor. “As CEO of Avon Products, I am so proud of our efforts to fight this disease,” said McCoy. “Here in our hometown of New York, many of our employees and sales representatives walked, crewed, volunteered, and cheered on Team Avon. We came together this weekend to show New York and the world that we are in it to end it.”
